Isaiah Dawe

Founder and CEO

Isaiah is a proud Butchulla and Garawa Saltwater man and the Founder of IDKY. After growing up in the foster system, Isaiah reconnected to his culture and discovered a sense of belonging. He then went on to study where he received several awards including winner of the TAFE Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander of the Year Award. In 2018, he became the first Indigenous person to chair the NSW Youth Advisory Committee. After years of hard work and youth mentoring, Isaiah founded IDKY and continues to grow the organisation as CEO.

Aunty Glendra Stubbs

Aunty-in-Residence

Aunty Glendra is a Wiradjuri woman with an extensive history of advocating for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. A founding member of Link-Up - an organisation established to reunite families impacted by the Stolen Generations, Aunty has spent more than 40 years providing advice and practical assistance to survivors of trauma. Aunty Glendra also has been a foster carer to many Aboriginal children and her efforts have seen her awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for her services to the Indigenous community.

Jola Cumming

Program Manager

Jola is a proud Butchulla and Garawa Saltwater Murri woman and the sibling of CEO and Founder Isaiah Dawe. Having grown up in out-of-home care until the age of 18, Jola brings a wealth of lived experience to the IDKY program. She serves as a powerful role model, demonstrating the ability to break the cycle of intergenerational trauma and disadvantage.

Jola graduated with a bachelor's degree in health sciences and a master's degree in PDHPE Teaching from The University of Sydney. Her academic accomplishments, combined with her personal journey, fuel her unwavering passion for creating meaningful connections and empowering opportunities for our Aboriginal children and young people.

As Program Manager, Jola expertly leads and supports the IDKY Mentors, curating transformative group experiences and one-on-one mentoring. She ensures that young people are surrounded by love, care, and a profound sense of belonging while being fully supported to achieve their goals. 

Aboriginal Male Mentor

Kallum is a proud Kamilaroi man and one of our Aboriginal Youth Mentors at IDKY. Born and raised in Brisbane, Kallum moved to Sydney in 2022 to pursue a career in the NRL. Kallum has been a part of the IDKY team since 2024. Since then, he has played a role in connecting with our youth, navigating cultural identity, and encouraging valuable life skills through our mentoring program.

Aboriginal Male Mentor

Cathane is a proud Pitta-Pitta man from northwest Queensland.  Cathane has worked with Aboriginal young people as a mentor in NSW and Queensland and had experience working with youth in the juvenile justice system. At IDKY Cathane is dedicated to working with young people to achieve outcomes such as culture and belonging, education and employment and obtaining life skills, in order to break the cycle and help Aboriginal young people succeed once the leave out-of-home care.
