Get involved by volunteering your time and skills or by joining us for your student placement. Volunteers are an important part of the IDKY family and we welcome people with a range of skills - from admin assistants to social work students!

Student Placements
ID. Know Yourself accepts intakes of student volunteers who choose work placement as a part of their studies. We prioritise Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students and those who are studying in social work, teaching, and mental health disciplines.

Corporate Volunteering

“This has been an incredibly rewarding placement experience. It’s been an absolute pleasure to get to know these carers and families and work alongside them. I’ve been blessed to learn so much about Aboriginal culture and the sheer resilience they hold, and all the staff at IDKY have taught me so much. In addition, it’s been eye-opening to discover the specific barriers and challenges they face. I will take this newfound knowledge and skills with me on my journey, and I am going to strive to break the cycle and continue to promote and celebrate the many strengths and wonders of Aboriginal culture.”
